The Association has  established our own Fire Safe Council

The Association is now  recognized as a Firewise USA® site.

This designation may allow you to receive insurance at a discounted rate.

We have a robust educational program that includes Street Teams that help to  educate our residents on how to   protect their homes from Wildfires. 

We  annually clear a two hundred foot buffer around our community. The area we clear was determined  with input from Jay Lopez, Assistant Chief LA County Fire.  We also hired a biologist to review the area to cleared for environmental impact, an Archaeologist for Chumash artifacts  and the approval of the California  Coastal Commission.

We also try to enforce  a ten foot buffer on all access streets & driveways in and out of Big Rock.

We ask all residents to do their part in keeping Big Rock a Fire Safe Community.

The Following  Big Rock  volunteers have  attended a  NFPA a training session  that enable them to conduct Home Ignition Zone Evaluations of your property.   Colin Drummond, Al Broussard, Ellen Relles, Judy Shockley and Marilou Hamill.
